Habitat Happenings Winter 2023

Greetings!

We’d like to thank our staff, volunteers, donors, and shoppers for their outstanding efforts this past year. Thanks to you, we had a great 2022 and are on track for an even better 2023!

We are finishing up the Sullivan Avenue build for the Staymates family and will have the Dedication Celebration in April. Then we turn our attention to our duplex build in Taneytown. We will kick off this project with a Groundbreaking Ceremony. Interested in a Team Building Day? Learn more about becoming a Build Sponsor here!

In ReStore news, we are delighted to announce that we have been experiencing phenomenal growth! In November and December, sales rose 30% from Nov/Dec 2021. Sometime on November 4, 2022, the ReStore passed $1,000.000 in sales since it’s opening. To date the ReStore has $1,132,843.74 in sales and has contributed over $220,000.00 to the affiliate!
Did you know that we now have a ReStore eBay page? Super star volunteer Sharon Row is our eBay ambassador. Sharon set up the eBay store and manages all listings and sales. She always finds the coolest donations, check it out!
Again, we thank our dedicated staff, generous donors, faithful volunteers, and awesome shoppers for their continued efforts to make your ReStore one of the best on the East Coast!

We held our latest Sea Glass Window class last Saturday. Pictures from the day are on our website. Check them out, the creativity our students never fail to impress us! This class was sold out, but we have spots available in our Altered Art Paint and Sip class scheduled for Thursday, February 9th from 6:30-8:30 PM. Upcycle donated art into a personalized masterpiece! You do not need to be an artist to enjoy this class. We will have local artist Jo Shupe, from Shoopaloop Studios in Hampstead, on hand to help jog your imagination and guide your talent. It’s only $35.00 and class size is limited, sign up now!

Our Women Build Club is growing, and we are having another event in February. To learn more, visit Women Build Club on our website.

Finally, do you need firewood? Our latest raffle is for a cord of wood, split and seasoned by yours truly, personally delivered anywhere in Carroll County. Drawing is on February 10th, you can buy tickets online or in person at the ReStore.

Whether you are a donor, sponsor, volunteer, ReStore shopper, or waiting for a chance to join our mission, we are grateful for your support!

With Gratitude,
