Volunteer partners are vital to our work of building simple, decent, and affordable homes. We welcome volunteers of all skill and experience levels to build with us. Volunteers don’t need construction experience, only a desire to serve. FAQ’s About Volunteering on Construction Sites
- You must be at least 16 years old to work on a construction site and must have a parent or guardian on-site at all times. Those under 18 must not use power tools, climb ladders, or work on scaffolding or the roof.
- Each Habitat volunteer must sign a Waiver of Liability form agreeing to take personal responsibility for any accidents or injuries on the job. Most individuals have a personal health insurance plan that covers them while engaged in volunteer work. However, you should verify your coverage prior to coming to the work site.
- Community service volunteers (including school, court and lawyer-recommended) can earn required hours through us. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
- No specific skills are required, just a willingness to learn. Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County provides an experienced crew leader who will provide on-the-job training.
