Did you hear the exciting announcements at Hammer & Ales?

First, Scott informed the crowd that both Partner Families for our Taneytown build were expedited through the USDA approval process and approved for their 502 Direct loans. This is phenomenal news! Originally, we predicted to break ground in August 2023. With this expedited approval, we hope to break ground early in 2023! Scott introduced Jennifer and Simone, our new homeowners-to-be to the crowd. If you missed it, these families will be earning their Sweat Equity, working alongside volunteers, as together we build this beautiful duplex.

Next, Scott announced that we are under contract on a 2-bedroom rancher in Westminster that needs minimal renovations. The house was part of an estate, and the heir made a partial gift-in-kind to Habitat to honor her late Aunt. More information to come!

Additionally, Scott updated those in attendance about the success of our Critical Home Repair Program. Since implementation at the beginning of the year, our CHRP has helped local families with crucial fixes needed to keep their homes safe and in good repair. We commend Pat Martin, our Construction Manager, our Construction Committee, and our faithful volunteers for their excellent work on these projects. We will continue to offer our CHRP, but we look forward to the upcoming builds as well!

Thank you for your help in fulfilling our mission. It has been a long journey to get to this point. It has been just over three years since we guided our last family to their new home. Now, within the next year, we will be creating three new homeowners while continuing to serve those in need with Critical Home Repairs.

The funds raised at Hammer & Ales are a great start to our next three builds! You helped raise $32,680.00 for our Homebuilding Program! However, your continued support is vital to bring affordable housing to Carroll County. Would you consider an added donation? 100% of your gift will fund our Homebuilding Program. Rising inflation and skyrocketing prices drive up the costs of homeownership. With your help, we can offer affordable mortgages to our partner families, building Homes, Community, and Hope right here in Carroll County!
