Homeowner Opportunities Now Available!

Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County Accepting Applications for Homeownership Projects

We are proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for a new duplex in Taneytown, MD.  This duplex will be LEED Platinum certified. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building certification program used worldwide and Platinum is the highest level of achievement.

We offer a hand-up, not a hand-out. Therefore, these homes will be sold to two deserving lower income families living or working in Carroll County and will be financed with a low interest loan from USDA. Orientation sessions will be held in November to explain the process. Interested applicants are encouraged to register for a session before filling out the application. Visit https://cchabitat.org/apply/ to learn more about the home and qualifications.

“This is an exciting time for our organization, and we are so happy to be creating opportunities for two hard working Carroll County families to own their own homes. We carefully select our Partner Families and they work alongside our volunteers to build their home” says Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County Executive Director Bryan Lyburn.  “We are grateful to all of our donors and volunteers who helped make this possible.” To learn more about becoming a sponsor or volunteer on this build, please visit www.cchabitat.org.

Applications are due on December 21, 2020 and two Partner Families will be announced in February of 2021.  The duplex will be built in 2021, creating our 11th and 12th home ownership opportunity. Habitat is proud to be growing our Mission in Carroll County and to be serving working families in our community. We cannot wait to hand the keys over to two more happy families!
